Cub Center host Chick-fil-A breakfast ahead of Nat’l Senior Center Month
Our friends over at the Young County Senior Cub Center hosted a Chick-Fil-A Breakfast provided by a large group of sponsors who help bring various services to the Cub Center members. Those companies who contributed to the breakfast and services to the Cub Center are: CenterWell Home Health, Angels Care Home Health, Angels Care Hospice, Elison Assisted Living & Memory Care of Graham, Seniorly Yours, LLC and Hospice Plus. “This breakfast was to promote Texoma Gives Day of Giving at the Olney Senior Cub Center on Thursday, September 5, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.,” Cub Center Director Angela Lockard said. “Please consider giving at this fundraiser to our programs which support seniors, the disabled, and underprivileged.”
Join the Cub Center for lunch at noon. The suggested contribution for seniors is $4; for under 60, a meal costs just $6.

The Olney Senior Center also kicks off National Senior Center Month at 11 a.m. on Sept. 3 with a proclamation signing by Olney Mayor Rue Rogers. The fun continues on Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. with a breakfast contest with a $5 entry fee and $1 for a plate. The winner takes the pot.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, the Cub Center hosts a Sock Hop dance from 6-9 p.m. with music provided by DJ Chris Widner.
On Sept. 17 from 1-3 p.m., the Cub Center will hold a Resource Fair for seniors with representatives from cleaning companies, home health and other agencies that serve seniors ready to answer questions.
The Olney Senior Center’s theme for National Senior Center Month is “Powering Connections,” and encourages citizens to visit the center, Mrs. Lockard said.
