City Council Updates

The Olney City Council met Monday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. Mayor Phil Jeske, Mayor, Pro Tem Rue Rogers and all city council members were present.

The mayor called the meeting to order and the council approved the minutes from the last meeting.

Since there were no citizens present for the public comments portion of the meeting, the council proceeded to dicuss the items for consideration on the agenda.

Some of the highlights of the discussion included the following:

Item 5 - The council approved the resolution to formalize the nomination of Jake Bailey to the YCAD (Young County Appraisal District) board.

Item 6 - Approved resolution to enter agreement to sell water outside the city limits.

Item 7 - Approved ordinance 15-19 to amend utility rate late fees noted in ordinance 012-19.

Item 8 - Approved ordinance to adopt a water conservation plan.

Item 9 - Approved United Appraisal Research for appraisal of airport property.

Item 10 - Approved the temporary partial closure of the 100th block of N Ave. F. for 45 days.

No action taken on agenda items 11 and 12..

Item 13 - Interlocal Agreement for SRO officer position is still pending.

Item 14 - The regular city council meeting on Nov. 25 will be held at the normal time and place.

Item 15 - Monthly departmenal reports were discussed with items tabled for further discussion at either called meetings or during the next regular meeting.

The meeting was adjourned for an executive session pursuant to Local Goverment Code Section 551.074(a) Texas Open Meetings Act.
