Candidate & Voter Open Forum in Olney, Feb. 3

The Young Republicans met Tuesday, January 14 in Graham at the Republican headquarters located at the old Newton’s Jewelry store on the north side of the square in Graham, Texas. There was an excellent turn out of interested voters and supporters. Most of the candidates running for office attended the meeting to discuss their goals. Each candidate had four minutes to discuss what they would do if elected to office. The Q&A session followed all candidate responses.

If you missed the meeting in Graham on Tuesday, there is another opportunity to meet the candidates in Olney on Monday, February 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the Olney Heritage Museum/Olney Enterprise Newspaper located at 213 E. Main St., Olney, Texas. This meet-andgreet open forum serves as a platform for candidates to discuss issues with constituents. It is important for voters and supporters to attend this meeting to meet the men and women running on the 2020 Young County Republican Primary Ballot.

Local offices up for election in the 2020 primary includes District Judge, District Attorney, Sheriff, County Attorney, Tax Assessor-Collector, County Commissioners (Precincts 1 & 3), Constables (Precincts 1 & 3).

Regardless of your political affiliations, you should be active and attend the meeting to meet the people who will be elected to represent the county. Although Olney has a strong conservative voter base, voters need to participate in the elections process and allow their voices to be heard. In an effort to make it easy for Olney residents to be active, The Young County Republicans plan to hold several meetings in Olney leading up to the primary election.
