Young County Senior Cub Center Reopens

May 3, the Young County Senior Cub Center (YCSCC) resumed full service for seniors of Olney and surrounding areas. Most just think of the center as a place to get a nutritious and low-cost lunch. The Senior Cub Center is so much more for the seniors in the area.

The Cub Center offers a place to congregate and socialize. The Cub Center offers lunch, bingo, health checkups and an area to socialize to build puzzles, play cards and much more. Bingo is at 10:30 am on Wednesday and Birthday Celebrations are resuming during lunch every third Thursday.

Jerri Corbin Ford, Director of the Senior Cub Center said “we have cleaned, sanitized, have individual salt and pepper packets and disposable utensils, we ask that, if possible, for visitors to call ahead to reserve a lunch so as to keep food waste to a minimum”.

Ford says masks are optional and are not required. The Senior Cub Center is opened 8 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Lunch is served at noon. The center is asking for a donation of 4 dollars if you are 60 or over for the lunch and 6 dollars for those under 60. To reach the Senior Cub Center please give them a call at 940-564-2782 The Cub Center is located at 302 South Ave. E.
