A Walk in the Park with Jesus

From May 2 - 4, the First United Methodist Church of Olney hosted a walk in the park with Jesus. The three day event started off on Sunday evening with a magic show, burgers provided by House of Mercy, and music by Stan Mahler. Each day, following the meal, worship followed.

Monday evening, the venue served up some ‘good ole’ Texas BBQ provided by J & D BBQ, and music provided by Chris Widner Productions. The event closed out on Tuesday with Street Tacos by The Rolling Taco Express, music by Gordon and Wendy Grubbs, as well as Greg Buenger A.K.A. “The Piano Man,” followed by a one man show by Mark Winter entitled, “God Calling.” Special thanks were given to all the sponsors: Hometown Coffee and Tea for providing gourmet popsicles, House of Mercy, and The Milk Guy.

Harrell Braddock Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Olney said, “this three day event is about reaching people for Jesus Christ.” Pastor Braddock added that the event was a great success with a little over 200 people in attendance. Mark Winter of One Man Show Ministries said, “I do a message that morphs into a dramatic presentation.” Winter specializes in dramatic presentations, but also preaches and does children ministries as well.
