Veteran’s Day at AL Post 414

The American Legion Post 414 in Olney hosted their annual Veterans Day meal on Nov. 11. This year, the Legion decided to host a fish fry instead of a traditional turkey dinner that has been the standard in previous years.

Many veterans attended the event with their families and took advantage of the opportunity to visit with other war fighters. Donations taken at the meal will go towards future events that help support the American Legion.

“This Veterans Day meal is always a great way for us to show our appreciation to veterans and their families,” said Post Commander Chris Garcia, a U.S. Army veteran. “This is one of the many reasons I take pride in what we do at the American Legion.”.

The meal was made possible by donations from the Olney American Legion and the volunteer work of the local chapter of the Sons of the American Legion.

If you are a veteran looking to get involved in the American Legion, or if you would like to volunteer to help in these events, please reach out to Chris Garcia, Post Commander, or call the post at (940) 564-9383.
