Senior Cub Center hosts spaghetti lunch fundraiser

The Junior Altruistic Club is hosting a Spaghetti Lunch Fundraiser benefiting the Young County Olney Senior Cub Center and the Meals on Wheels program on Jan. 21 from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Senior Cub Center.

For lunch, a delicious homemade sauce, with or without meat, will be served over spaghetti noodles along with fresh salad topped with Olive Garden dressing and hot rolls (salad and rolls donated by Texas Roadhouse). For dessert, homemade brownies topped with strawberries will be served.

Money raised by the lunch will help the Senior Cub Center to continue with its mission to enrich the lives of Olney’s seniors. The Center delivers an average of 353 meals per week, serve 112 meals in its dining room per week, and provides an average of seven trips per week to seniors in Olney.

The Center also conducts quality of life programs, including birthday parties, crafts classes and games. It plans to expand its programming to include dances and low-impact exercise this year.

The Center hosts special events such as military honorariums, holiday celebrations, and Grandparent & Grandchild Day.
