The Pipeliner starts new life as The Windmill

The Pipeliner Inn is officially under new management, and will be renamed The Windmill, according to City officials and the new owner, Jake Randall.

The motel at 401 E. Main St. changed ownership and as a result eventually will be subject to code inspections, Olney Police Chief Dan Birbeck said.

Mr. Randall also announced in a Facebook post that his purchase of the motel had closed.

“We are excited to announce the new ownership of the ‘Windmill’ formerly known as the Pipeliner,” Mr. Randall wrote. “We have been around town for a bit now and have received so much love and support right off the bat. Now as we make transitions our goal is to create a clean and safe environment as we strive to serve the town of Olney the best we know how.”

He noted that although the deal has closed, new management will take over on Aug. 1.

He said he plans to make “repairs and upgrades” at that time.

Mr. Randall could not be reached for comment about his schedules for the renovations.

The motel has served as longterm housing for many of its residents.
