Olney Area Retired School Personnel Meeting

Olney Area Retired School Personnel (OARSP) met Nov. 6 at St. Teresa’s Parish Hall. President Don Berry called the meeting to order, and Gerald Butler led pledges to the American and Texas flags. After a prayer by Berry, the thought of the day was given by Jeanie Spivey followed by a health tip by Gloria Krueger.

Berry introduced Thomas Fogleman, a retired educator who spoke about political and legislative issues of concern to both retired and active teachers. He urged all to stay aware of and involved in these important matters.

During the business session, Gloria Krueger gave the treasurer’s report, and Kay Strealy spoke about the children’s book project. Members were reminded of the next meeting Dec. 4 when toys will be collected for the fire department.

The meeting was adjourned, and members enjoyed refreshments provided by Donna Haile, Theresa Henry and Polly Voss.
