Box Supper At Orth

The members of the Christian Church at Orth will give a Box Supper at their church on Saturday night, July 17th. The proceeds are to be used for improvements on the church building. A general good time is planned for, and all are welcome to come. Bring a well filled lunch box with you and help out this worthy cause.

Capt. Jimmy Horany Receives Promotion

Capt. Jimmy Philip Horany, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.K. Horany of Archer City, and brother of Mrs. Ray Horany of Olney, has recently been promoted to the rank of Major. Major Horany is with the Postal Division of the Air Corps stationed in France. He has been in the services four years, and has been overseas one year.

Drennan Receives Commendation Warrant officer Lloyd A. Drennan, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Warrant officer Lloyd A. Drennan, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Drennan of Lovington, N. Mexico, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Drennan of Olney, recently received the Army Commendation medal in Viet Nam. He also holds the air medal. Drennan received the award for heroism in action while engaged in military operations against a hostile force in Viet Nam. He is assigned as a pilot with the 336th Assault Helicopter Company.

Seniors Win, Play Tonight In Electra

Olney Little League and Senior League All-Stars won the area tournaments held last week in Olney. Both are playing in district tournaments this week. The 11-12 Boys Little League area tournament saw Olney defeat Graham Thursday for the championship. They are in the district tournament in Graham where they were defeated Monday night 9-1 by Haskell, but came back Tuesday to defeat Seymour 2-1. They were scheduled to play Haskell again Wednesday with the winner facing Iowa Park Thursday.
