100 YEARS AGO – JUNE 25, 1920

Key-Campbell

At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. R. Campbell, June 22, Mr. Geo. A. Key and Miss Margurite Campbell were united in the Holy bond of matrimony in the presence of many relatives and friends. Mr. Key is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Key, of Archer county, and is a young man of sterling worth and is held in high esteem by his many friends. The bride is the accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Campbell of this city and is held in the highest esteem by all who know her as an intelligent, Christian young lady. They left on the morning train for Galveston an other points. After their return they will be at home in Archer county with their relatives and friends.

75 YEARS AGO – JUNE 22, 1945

City Hall Bell Will Be Tolled For Prayer Services

Arrangements have been made by the Prayer Meeting committee for the Union Revival to have the bell at the City Hall tolled slowly at 9:00 o’clock each morning, beginning June 25, calling the people of the community to the special hour of prayer. The hour of 9 a.m. has been designated as a special hour of prayer for the revival meeting wherein the people have been requested to earnestly implore God for a great outpouring of the Holy Ghost upon this community. The bell will be tolled at the hour designated through July 7. The meeting begins July 8.

50 YEARS AGO – JUNE 25, 1970

Olneyite Kin to Make Study Tour

Kay Perry is one of five Stamford students leaving for Europe June 30 for a six weeks study tour with the Foreign Study League. The other members of the group from Texas will meet the Stamford students at Love Field in Dallas will fly to New York where they will depart from Kennedy airport for Rome. During the six weeks tour the students will visit Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, France, England, and Brussels. Kay, recently elected president of the National Honor Society of Stamford High School, will be a senior in the fall. Kay is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Perry of Stamford and the granddaughter of Mrs. Willie Wainwright of Olney and Carl Wainwright of Graham.

25 YEARS AGO – JUNE 22, 1995

Daws Graduates Radiology School

Amy Daws, daughter of Connis and Linda Daws, graduated June 16 from Methodist Hospital School of Radiological Technology in Lubbock. She received the DRA Award of Excellence during the ceremonies. She is employed by Diagnostic Radiology Associates and the Image Center in Lubbock. Those attending the ceremony with her parents included Myrtle Cooper, Ronnie Kleam, Tracye Swafford and Keith and Robin Daws and Bucky.
