Junior Altruistic Club Meets

The Junior Altruistic Club met Nov. 7 in the home of Valorie Mahler with Trina Johnson as co-hostess. President Jan Tyler presided over the meeting, and after officer reports, upcoming events were discussed.

For the remaining days of November and December, the club will sponsor three community angel trees for the House of Mercy. Needed items will be written on each paper angel and placed on trees located at Olney Interbank, Hometown Coffee & Tea and this year’s new traveling tree. Starting Nov. 8, the traveling angel tree will stay one week at the following businesses: Air Tractor, Tower Extrusions, Brazos Communications, CEMCO and First State Bank. Also, the Junior Altruistic Club will prepare finger foods to help with the Keep Olney Beautiful (KOB) Holiday Homes Jingle & Mingle fundraiser Dec. 7.

Once the meeting was adjourned, members were served wassail, fruit, veggies and cookies while they made paper angels for the angel trees. Others present were: Gay Lynn McClelland, Julie Hinson, Cathy Marion, Tammy Montgomery, Julie Stewart, Melody Rogers, Connie Horany, Barbara Calvin, Julie Campbell, Trudy Capps and Jennifer Lane.
