It Was The Night Before Christmas

It was the night before Christmas, and we all

turned off our lights.

Olney was quiet, all but Allsups closed for the night.

On the porches sat cowboy boots all covered in hay.

Why? Cuz’ Olney is in Texas, what more need I say?

To spend time with their families Hometown Coffee was closed,

Hopefully nestled in stockings were the gift cards they sold.

Children everywhere were watching The Grinch in celebration,

Using internet provided by Brazos Communications.

Boxes were wrapped and topped with a bow,

Inside, placed neatly, gifts from Olney Floral.

Groceries from Stewart’s would soon adorn tables,

A Christmas breakfast for all with bacon, eggs and even bagels.

We’ve all been given a gift that we share,

A grace that saves all, even to those unaware.

Grab a paper this Christmas, turn to 5 and please read,

A devotional written by The Refuge’s Rodney.

A big thanks to Tower, Air Tractor and Cemco (to name a few)

Olney continues to flourish thanks to you.

Although it’s Christmas, some jobs don’t stop,

Merry Christmas and thank you - nurses, doctors and cops.

The Enterprise hopes everyone’s day is happy and bright,

Merry Christmas dear Olney, and to ya’ll a good night.
