Council declares Constitution Week in Olney
During a special-called meeting of the Olney City Council on Monday, September 17, Mayor Phil Jeske II proclaimed the week of September 17-23 as Constitution Week in Olney, in recogniztion of the 231st anniversary of the drafting of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787.
“We, as a city, afford official recognition to this magnificent document as memorable anniversary and to the patriotic celebration which will commemorate it,” Jeske said. “And whereas the Daughters of the American Revolution continue to ensure the remembrance of all the brave patriots and statesmen who fought to establish our country, government and liberties as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America.”
Olney City Council will hold their next regular meeting on Monday, September 24, 2018.
