Blessed and a Blessing: Gabrielle Chandler

“Before I came to H.O.M.E. I was lost in addiction. So lost I went into a rehab in Dallas, TX hoping to find my peace and happiness. I was wrong. There was still so much missing. While in rehab, a good friend of mine heard about H.O.M.E. and she told me about it. Right away I was intrigued. I told my husband. Unsure at first but something kept telling us to just go. So, we did.

Pulling up to H.O.M.E. we knew we were home. We knew everything was about to change and for the good. And it has. Our day is filled with classes where we expand our knowledge of our Lord and Savior. We have amazing teachers who come in, not for a paycheck, not for bragging rights, but they come in to share their love for Jesus, to share their life story, to share the word. To show us that there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel we found ourselves lost in. This place has helped restore the missing pieces of our lives that for many years we have been longing for. The void we once filled with sin and drugs is now filled with LOVE, PEACE AND HOPE. I’m a city girl born and raised in Austin TX and never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would find myself in Olney with a population of less than 4,000. H.O.M.E. is filled with love, this place has become our home.

God has made my mind new again, he saved my family, he gave me a loving husband who is also renewed by the grace of the Lord. With God everything is possible. With God life can be restored. With H.O.M.E. and this life changing program you will find your peace. You will find you way back into the Lord’s arms. I once was lost but now I’m found. The Lord welcomed me back with open arms, he never left my side. I’m forever grateful.”

Gabrielle is a level 3 resident at the House of Mercy. After completion of the program she plans to stay in Olney and keep building a better foundation for her and her family. When asked about what she loves the most about H.O.M.E. she answered, “Everything. They’re my new family.” H.O.M.E. changed her life by giving her and her husband a family and peace again. They found love and understanding. Gabrielle and her husband Jason have 3 boys; Landon-14, Adrian-10 and Jordan-5.
