Blessed and a Blessing: Dana Kimble

“I came H.O.M.E. with 60 years of chaos and addiction behind me. There was never a time in those years when close family members were not addicted and four of their lives were lost to substance abuse. I too spent many years lost in sin and addiction and was convinced that I was a lost cause. There had been unnumerable treatment centers, more than a few incarcerations, psychiatric hospitals and twelve step meetings. Until I was told of God’s grace and the unconditional love of the Holy Trinity in a way that allowed me to understand and access the healing and power available to me simply by believing, receiving and sharing these greatest of gifts, I simply could not change. There is still so much work to be done in me and I am grateful every day that there are people in my life who are willing to walk this walk with me and let me know when I get distracted from my destination. I’m no longer lost and afraid and I can say with all the joy and conviction that I possess that God has done for me what I could not do for myself!”

Dana Kimble is a level 3 resident of the House of Mercy. When she graduates, she plans to stay in Olney and serve the community in any way she can. Before coming to the House of Mercy she describes her life as completely chaotic. What she likes most about H.O.M.E. is the spirit of unity and how they get to become separate members of one body. She also appreciates how they are taught Christian principles. Dana has two adult sons; Zane and Matthew. Matthew and his beautiful wife, Amber, have given her three brilliant grandchildren; Riley, Lucy and Lennox. Zane’s son, Beaux, is equally brilliant and they all are a light in the lives of those who meet them.
