Amity Club elects officers

Amity Club members met at the home of Donna Sullivan on May 4 for the last meeting until this fall when they pick up again in September. The current officers provided desserts and Club members brought their favorite salads. Present were Judy Averett, Nita Hearne, Rita Choat, Judy Moberly, Kristy Nantz, Marilyn Norris, Margie Snyder, Jeanie Spivey, Donna Sullivan, Lucretia Taylor, Ronni Walker, Phyllis Whitsitt, Judi Winslow, and Bobby Wright.

After the luncheon, Marilyn Norris installed the new slate of officers, giving each of them a candy bar representing their duties … for example, the treasurer received a Payday (very clever). The officers for 2023-2024 are: Phyllis Whitsitt (President), Carolyn Penn (1st VP), Donna Sullivan (2nd VP), Nita Hearne (Secretary), Marilyn Norris (Corresponding Secretary), Lucretia Taylor (Treasurer), Rita Choat (Reporter). A potential new member (Carol Vorel) was suggested, voted on, and passed with a unanimous vote ‘yes’. Welcome to the Club, Carol!!
