The Freezin’ For A Reason charity golf tournament is looking for items for the group’s silent auction, which raises funds for local American Cancer Society patients. The annual tournament is set for March 2 at the Olney Country Club.
The Enterprise incorrectly stated in a Feb. 22 article entitled “Candidates file for May 4 races,” that the winners of the school board election will serve two-year terms. Terms for OISD board trustees are three years. The article also incorrectly stated that Mark McClelland filled Jake Bailey’s seat last year. In fact, Mr. McClelland filled the seat in 2022. The Enterprise apologizes for the error.
Young County judges began implementing and enforcing new bond conditions this week to try to keep people on felony bonds from committing additional crimes, 90th District Judge Phillip Gregory said.
The Olney City Council race drew eight candidates for two open seats and a challenger for Mayor Rue Rogers, City Secretary Tammy Hourigan said. A third Council seat, vacated earlier this month by Brad Simmons, also will be filled on May 4 in a special- called election that will appear on the same ballot as the other City races but in a separate location on the ballot, Ms. Hourigan said.
