Vacancies in key city employee positions continue
At their November 27 meeting, Olney City Council voted to begin accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. “There are some people on the council that think we need to go ahead and start the process to solidify the position either one way or the other so that the ‘interim’ goes away,” said Mayor Phil Jeske II. “ The only way to truly do that is to start the application process in which our Interim, and anyone else who wants to, can apply.” “My suggestion is that we put an end date on this so it doesn’t drag out like some of the other positions have,” said Mayor Pro Tem Tom Parker. “Let’s put 90 days on it.”
