Varsity boys split games to start new year

The Olney Cubs varsity basketball team has been doing great this year. On Tuesday, Jan. 2, the boys had a game against Moran and won, 83-33.

They then had a game against Itasca and came so close to victory with a score of 56-44.

The Olney Cubs will have a home game against Archer City on Friday, Jan. 12, or their first district game.

Coach Eric Symanck has helped the team to win nine games including their wins over 3A Valley View and Electra.

However, Coach Symanck said, “it is some of the accomplishments off the floor that I am most proud of.”

“The team and I are looking forward to our upcoming district schedule,” Coach Symanck said. “All the games leading up to this are meant to prepare us for this stretch. We are excited about the opportunities and would love for all the fans to come out and support us!”
