Lady Cubs fall to Quanah, 47-28

QUANAH— The Olney Lady Cubs seemed a team from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde during Tuesday night’s 47-28 loss to Quanah.

After an abysmal first quarter, the Lady Cubs seemed to pull it together in the second but their early 13-point deficit was too much to overcome.

“We missed some open layups and turned the ball over,” Olney coach Jimmy Toney said. “When you have 16 turnovers in the first half, it makes it hard. We dug a deep hole, then we started fighting in at the end, we won the second half, but lost the first half. I’m proud of the second half, but the first half was rough.”

The Lady Cubs look get back into playoff contention with a win Friday over district rival Windthorst. The J.V. tips off at 4 p.m.
