Cubs mount defensive battle against Pirates

The OHS Cubs opened the district season with a match up against the Petrolia Pirates. This was an oldschool defensive battle with the Pirates pushing past the Cubs in the fourth period to win the battle, 4438.

The Cubs had a difficult night shooting and it made the difference in the loss. Defense was on point and gave the Pirates a real fight. The Cubs are usually very accurate shooters and had a big lead of more than ten points in the first period but took their foot off the throttle briefly and that was all it took to change the momentum of the game.
