Olney’s varsity Cubs just couldn’t get their offensive and defensive strategies in sync Friday, Nov. 1, as the team fell to Quanah 53-0 in District 3-1A action.

“We didn’t play especially well,” Coach Hugh Farmer said. “Everyone was disappointed. We came out flat and never got past that.”

Farmer said the Cubs had some good moments where they moved the ball well; however, during those times the defense wasn’t able to pull it together. Then, when the defense was firing on all cylinders, the offense was lacking.

This week, the Cubs end their season on the road at Archer City.

The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 1-8, and are also winless in District 3-1A play. The Wildcats’ only win came in their first match of the season versus Haskell, 24-14.

Kickoff is on Friday, Nov. 8, is at 7 p.m.
