Police Beat

Have a happy thanksgiving

All of your Olney Police Department want to wish you a very wonderful, safe, and blessed Thanksgiving.  We as a City and a Nation have so much to be thankful for.

Most of us will throw away more food over the weekend than many families around the world will have to eat in a year.  We have the freedom to attend worship at the Church of our choice.

We can travel from state to state without having government issues in border crossings.  All of us can get on a soapbox and declare our frustrations with our country but, bottom line; there is no greater country to live in.

I have been in several foreign countries and observed their culture and government and I kiss the ground every time my plane lands on the United States soil.  We are a blessed nation.  We live in a blessed state, Texas.

We have the privilege of living in an awesome city called Olney.  We have so much to be thankful for.  Like the Old Hymn says, “Count your blessings, name them one by one, count your blessings, see what the Lord has done.”

When you gather around the family table to enjoy your wonderful Thanksgiving meal, say a prayer for your nation and your city. Pray for your Police, Fire, and EMS personnel.

Take time to enjoy your family, laugh much, stay safe, and remember DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE.  God bless you and God bless America.
