“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” John 3:17 NASBS

Dear Reader, I am blessed to have the opportunity to speak about the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. I am overwhelmed by the love God bestowed on this world by sending Jesus to die the death of a murderer and a blasphemer on a cursed cross.

The wonder is even more remarkable when one truly seeks to understand the sinfulness of sin and how it has corrupted the entire humanity. Yet, despite this, the scriptures tell us the Father made Jesus, “Who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

In other words, sin has so completely corrupted man that he cannot earn God’s favor, nor even have the ability to do so.

The vile nature of humanity can be found in his own rational thinking when examining every detail of his imagination. In by doing so, he will find within his own heart, “all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; that he is full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice.”

This kind of explicit examination clarifies deep within his soul that he is a hater of God’s word. He is “insolent, arrogant, boastful,” one who is without a true understanding of his own fallen nature.

When the simplest of things goes wrong, whether it be a car, bike, or anything else, we try to find the solution. To diagnose the issue, we refer to the manufacturer’s instruction manual. Why then do we ignore the question of whether there is an absolute truth that can bring resolve to human depravity?

Well, my friends, the answer is found only in the Person of The Lord Jesus Christ.

You see, the Bible rightly defines the darkness of man, who knows inwardly that God exists, not only because of creation, but also because of a moral law that is binding upon his conscience.

It tells us, “For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man.”

The Apostle Paul further adds concerning the depravity of human nature, “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.”

“Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”

“Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known.”

“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Oh, the sinfulness of sin, how it manipulates the mind to make someone think they are righteous because of a certain good deed they have performed, yet the secret sin hidden in the heart proves otherwise.

There is not one among us who is better than the other, “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” This is the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, despite man’s fallen nature, God sent him a redeemer. The scriptures tell us, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” For God, Who is full of mercy, sent “His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Understand, that in Jesus Christ, and Him alone, the broken law described earlier has been absolved. Therefore, God has deemed you innocent, and acquitted you of your sins in Jesus Christ.

May the conviction of truth bring a new song to your heart, “Precious, precious blood of Jesus, Shed on Calvary, Shed for rebels, shed for sinners, Shed for thee.

Precious, precious blood of Jesus Ever flowing free, Oh, believe it; oh, receive it, ’Tis for thee. Precious, precious blood of Jesus, Let it make thee whole; Let it flow in mighty cleansing, O’er thy soul.

Though thy sins are red like crimson, Deep in scarlet glow, Jesus’ precious blood shall wash thee, White as snow.”
