Myrna Lois Kellar Knobloch Whitmire

Myrna Lois Kellar Knobloch Whitmire, 76, of Megargel, TX, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016. Surrounded by her family and loved ones, she peacefully passed in the care of Hospice of Wichita Falls, TX, after battling cancer.

Myrna was born on Feb. 4, 1940, in Hollis, OK, to J.D. and Della Kellar. The third of eight children, she attended school in Hollis, OK. As the oldest sister she played a vital role in helping her mom raise her younger siblings. Throughout her life, Myrna worked as a beautician and farmer and enjoyed fishing, raising her children, and spoiling her grandchildren. Later in life, she became an avid artist and won several awards for her beautiful artwork. An active member of the Megargel Christian Fellowship Church, Myrna loved to serve the Lord and spread His love wherever she went. With her forgiving heart, Myrna was a friend to all who knew her.

Myrna is survived by her children Patricia Knobloch Hall and husband Charlie of Megargel, TX; Curtis Knobloch and wife Miriam of Archer City, TX; and C.D. Knobloch and wife Mary Ellen of Archer City, TX. Myrna’s grandchildren are Chip Hall and wife Ashley of Wichita Falls, TX; Dane Hall of Fort Worth, TX; Curt Knobloch of Wichita Falls, TX; Natalie Knobloch of Archer City, TX; Evan Knobloch of Wichita Falls, TX; Morgan Knobloch of Archer City, TX; and Coltin Knobloch of Archer City, TX. Myrna is survived by one great-granddaughter: Preslynn Hall of Wichita Falls, and one great-grandson due in May 2017: Charles Harris Hall, III (Tripp). She is survived by her brothers Gene Kellar, Charles Kellar and wife Jeanie, and Stevy Kellar and wife Gina of Megargel, TX, her sister Retha Stewart of Megargel, TX, and her dear friend Lewis Posey of Archer City, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Whitmire, her parents, her sister Marquetta Echols, and two brothers Jimmy D. Kellar and Dennis Kellar.

The visitation for Myrna will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, TX, and the service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the First Baptist Church of Olney, TX. She will be laid to rest in the Megargel Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.
