Bill Evans, USAF, Retired, age 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, in Lewisville, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Scotte Clark officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Bill was born on Dec. 10, 1937, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late E. H. and Bessie Loree (Strealy) Evans. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a degree in electrical engineering. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force in avionics for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Major. Bill married Carol Lee Creson in Dallas, Texas, in 1962. He later married Sue Hamilton on April 18, 1998, in Graham, Texas. He moved to Olney in 1996 from Denton. He especially enjoyed meeting his friends at Cub Drug each afternoon for coffee and to catch up on all the news, since he was no longer able to play golf.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sue Evans of Olney, Texas; children, Will Evans and wife, Stephanie, of Odessa, Texas, Denise Sizelove and husband, Mike, of Argyle, Texas, Julie Jacob of Graham, Texas; four grandchildren: Jake Sizelove of Tulsa, Okla., Sam Sizelove of Manhattan, Kan., Strealy Sizelove of Argyle, Texas, Wyatt Evans of Gardendale, Texas; sister, Gennett Smith and husband, Farest, of Angleton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law: Lynda Rue and husband, Ray, of Georgetown, Texas, and Pat Boston of Kansas.
Family visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
