Clayton Robertson, age 88, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas, with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Clayton was born on Nov. 15, 1924, in Denton County, Texas, to the late Clayton E. Sr. and Luah (Cunningham) Robertson. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy as Seaman First Class during World War II. He was a lifelong resident of the Olney area and was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. Clayton had been an automobile mechanic with the General Motors dealership and Bill Burris Motors for 40 years. He and Ruby Dodson were married on Oct. 11, 1980, in Olney, where they made their home together for over 33 years. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; sister Novella Lee; brother Namon Robertson; and two daughters, Patricia Hall and Elisha Fay Robertson.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Ruby Robertson of Olney; four sons, DeWayne Robertson and Bruce Robertson, both of Wichita Falls, Glen York and Cecil York, both of Olney; two sisters, Joy Graham and Shirley McWhorter, both of Olney; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
