C.H. (Corky) Evans, Jr. died June 23, 2016, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Memorial services were held at Northaven United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was 85 years old.

C.H. was born in Olney, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Clester Evans, Sr., and his mother, Winnie Dunagan Evans. C.H. is survived by his partner of 55 years, George Harris, in Dallas, and his sister, Neva McClatchy, of Olney. Also, nephews Jeff McClatchy and wife Theresa of Olney, Scott McClatchy and wife Barbara of Ft. Worth and Kent McClatchy and wife Syndal of Olney.

Grand nieces are Kaci Creel, Michelle Mueller (Seth) and Meredith Tilton (Ronnie). Grand nephews are Mace McClatchy (Celeste), Cole McClatchy and Chase McClatchy (Carrie). Great grand nieces are Harper Creel, Stella McClatchy and Evelyn McClatchy.

C.H. and George spent 38 years in the real estate business in Dallas owning Evans and Harris Real Estate and later working for other real estate firms. C.H. loved the people side of the real estate business. His passion was meeting people and the process of finding the right home for each.

C.H. was an artist and a photographer. His work has been sold at fund-raisers and auctions for the community. He loved beauty in all forms and to experiment with different color combinations in his works.

He was a member of the Northaven United Methodist Church in Dallas. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduating from the University of North Texas in Denton. He was also a graduate of Olney High School.

Memorials can be made to the C.H. Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 210 S. Ave. M, in Olney.
