All students not currently enrolled at Olney ISD will register for the 2013-2014 school year from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Olney Elementary School office. Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013, to be eligible to attend kindergarten. Parents must bring a certified birth certificate, child’s Social Security card and shot records. All other students must bring a report card from their previous school, if possible.
OES will have prekindergarten classes for students who qualify by Texas Education Agency guidelines. Enrollment will also be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the OES office.
Parents need to bring the child’s certified birth certificate, Social Security card and shot records. To be eligible for enrollment, a child must be 4 years of age on Sept. 1 of the current school year and must be:
• Unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
• Educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program); or
• Homeless; or
• The dependent of a member of the armed forces of the United States who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
• In the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing.
