Bottled Water

Bottled Water

When it comes to water sources, there are so many choices: water from the tap, filtered water, or bottled water. The marketplace is flooded (no pun intended) with so many brands that you may need help deciding which is the best. While some people refuse to drink bottled water—standing in support of tap water superiority— others (like me) are convinced that selecting the right bottled water can rev up your water game. Now that I’ve found the best-tasting brand, I drink more water and enjoy the experience.

A few years ago, somebody reported that nearly half of all bottled water comes from the tap. If that’s true, the good news is that tap water is inexpensive and undergoes frequent testing to ensure it is free of bacteria and other contaminants. On the other hand, it could also mean that companies are scamming us by selling us overpriced tap water. I grew up drinking tap water, which was the absolute best. I was so obsessed with the water in my hometown that I would load gallons of milk jugs to bring to college. Then, perhaps a decade later, I moved to an area that released a poor-quality water report that persuaded me to jump on the bottled water bandwagon.

If you’re curious about bottled water or want to elevate your experience, I encourage you to try my top three favorite brands. My favorites have excellent taste and texture, not to mention natural alkalinity. All of my brands are bottled at the source and are environmentally responsible companies.

So, here goes: the number one spot on my list is Eternal spring water sourced from naturally alkaline springs in the Shasta-Trinity Alps in California and the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Next on my list is Mountain Valley’s natural spring water. This premium water is sourced directly from the Ouachita Mountains and is bottled in glass to preserve the essential minerals and pristine taste. Third on my list is Fiji’s natural artesian water sourced from the clouds high above Fiji Island. The company prides itself on a volcanic rock filtering process that gathers minerals and electrolytes contributing to the smooth taste.

Regardless of the brand of water you choose, or even if you stick to tap water, it is always important to hydrate. Nutritionists concur that you drink at least six to eight 8 oz glasses of water daily. Cheers!
