James R. "Bob" Ward, 77, met his Lord and Saviour face to face on Oct. 1, 2013.
Bob was born on June 15, 1936, in Olney,Texas. He was an ordained minister and served as pastor of several small churches. He loved teaching and worked 28 years with the Texarkana Arkansas School District. He influenced the lives of so many young people. He was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church where he was a deacon for many years. He taught Sunday School and served his church family in many other ways. He loved his church!
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.P. and Artie Mae Ward, and beloved brother Charles E. Ward.
Those who remain to cherish his memories are Jo, the love of his life; one daughter and spouse, Laura and Mark Davis of Hooks,Texas, and one son and spouse, John and Karen Ward of ElPlan, Honduras; four grandchildren; Alyssa, Andrew, Branson and Anna, who were all the light of his life. Bob was also survived by two brothers and spouses: David and Wanda Ward of Graham,Texas, Bill and Evelyn Ward of Aledo,Texas and one sister-in-law, Louise Ward of Olney, Texas. Also left to cherish his memory are his extended family: Purl Knight, Dale Deahl, Charles and Pauline Green, Jerry and Katherine Wheat and Tim and Carolyn Deahl. Bob had a great number of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A visitation was held from 1-2 p.
m followed by a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Beech Street First Baptist Church Sanctuary, located at 601 Beech Street,Texarkana, Ark.
