Four male juveniles have been arrested and charged with arson following events that occurred during the final week of September. The youths were taken into custody Wednesday, Oct. 2, in conjunction with fires that happened on N. Grand and N. Ave. D.
According to OPD Chief Barry Roberts, two of the four juveniles, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, were charged with two counts of arson and the remaining two, both 16-year-old males, are each facing a single arson count.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, OPD received a call regarding a yard on fire at 506 N. Grand.
"We checked it out, along with Olney VFD," Roberts said.
The fire did not make it to the house, though the yard was burned.
Then, on Sunday, Sept. 29, officials were dispatched to a vehicle on fire at 509 N. Ave. D.
"The car was deliberate," Roberts said. "It had burn patterns where someone poured accelerant on it and set it on fire."
