Rachel Elizabeth Altmiller and Michael Ryan Escalona of Waco were united in marriage during an outdoor ceremony held on June 29 at Cathedral Oaks in Belton. The bride is the daughter of Desley and Sherry Altmiller of Olney. She is the granddaughter of Wade and Edwana Fikes and Russell and Evelyn Altmiller, all of Olney. The groom is the son of Roy and Lydia Escalona of San Angelo. He is the grandson of Juan Perez of San Angelo and the late Dolores Perez, and Paula Escalona of Olney and the late Lupe Escalona. Guests were surrounded by a blue sky and oak trees several centuries old as the bride and groom recited their wedding vows under a chuppah adorned with ivory tapestry, flowers and a vintage chandelier. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a delicately ruched A-line, embroidered lace gown featuring a soft sweetheart neckline. The bodice was trimmed in freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and crystal sequins. A scalloped hem completed the chapel train. As a special gift from her aunt, the bride wore a shoulder-length, two-tiered veil edged in dainty pearls. She carried a bouquet of white peonies, soft pink roses, dark pink ranunculus and white and pink spray roses, all wrapped in an ivory stem with a lace overlay. Maid of honor was Carrie McKamie of McGregor, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Staci McKamie of Temple, cousin of the bride; Devin Goldsmith of Dallas; Becky Altmiller of Wichita Falls, sister-in-law of the bride; Kristen Escalona of San Angelo, sister of the groom; and Jodi Schwarz and Jerrica Escobedo, both of San Angelo.

Flower girl was Kailyn Altmiller, niece of the bride. Ring bearer was Hayden Altmiller, nephew of the bride. Best man was Matt Brown of San Angelo. Groomsmen were Aaron Byrd of San Angelo; Jeff Jackson of Waco; Dustin Altmiller of Wichita Falls, brother of the bride; Garrett Sestric of San Angelo; Nick Johnson and Matt Gatherwright, both of Cincinnatti, Ohio. Ushers were Curt McKamie of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tyler Fikes of San Angelo, both cousins of the bride. The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cathedral Oaks prior to the wedding. Following the wedding, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Grand Hall of Cathedral Oaks. The bride is a cum laude graduate with a bachelor of arts in psychology and master of science in psychology from Angelo State University. She is employed by Heart of Texas Regional MHMR in Waco. The groom graduated from Angelo State University with a bachelor of arts in communications, and is employed by Glazer's Distributors in Waco. Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple is at home in Waco.
