The Olney High School homecoming festivities will be held next week, culminating with the Cubs' home game versus Electra on Friday, Oct. 4. A bonfire has been tentatively set for 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, pending approval by local authorities. If not, a blackout pep rally will begin at 8 p.m. at the OHS gym. The final decision was not available at presstime. The Mr. Hunk winner will be announced at this time. Mr. Hunk nominees are Mike Clark, Taylor Thomas, Trampas Patton and Trevor Williams. On Friday, Oct. 4, the Homecoming Parade will be held. Lineup begins at 3:45 p.m. at the old Olney Savings building and the parade begins at 4:15 p.m. The parade route will take participants west down Main Street to Avenue H, where they will proceed south to end at the new gym. The Homecoming pep rally will be held at that location. Kickoff for the Homecoming game versus Electra is set for 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. Homecoming Queen will be named during halftime of the game, and the OHS band will perform afterward. Homecoming Queen nominees are Farren Garcia, Katelynn Axtell, Hunter Riggins and Lexie Johnson. After the game, OHS students will enjoy a tailgate party in the practice field area west of the stadium.
