Edna Good, 89, a faithful Christian lady, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Gables in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Faith Village Church of Christ, where she was a longtime member. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas, directed by Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

Ms. Good was born in Clara, Texas, on Aug. 20, 1923. Growing up working in the farm fields, chopping cotton and helping with the dairy during the hard days of the depression, Edna learned values not taught in school that guided her life. She graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1940. Shortly after graduation, Edna began her career in banking with State National Bank in Iowa Park. From Iowa Park she moved her career upward at Wichita National Bank, then First Wichita National Bank, then Bank One and the era of the “banner banks” in the 1980s. She took an “early” retirement after nearly 40 years in banking.

Edna didn’t retire from working; however, she just changed careers and worked for 15 years as assistant accounting manager with Dennis Company. Edna made lifelong friendships with the people she worked and went to church with. Her faith in God and in Christ’s church was steadfast throughout her life. She will always be remembered for her easy smile, her positive and friendly demeanor and her truly gentle and gracious spirit.

She is survived by her sister Martha Dennis and husband Chuck Dennis of Wichita Falls; sister-in-law, Jean Good of Lake Jackson TX; step-sister Essie Johnson and husband Roy of Iowa Park TX, step-brother Mike Caldwell and wife Charlotte of Lohn TX. She is survived by Nieces: Kate Wright and husband Stanley of Iowa Park TX, Elise Griot and husband Mark of Springfield MO, Connie Story and husband Bruce of Montpelier VT, Donna Hinson and husband Alan of Olney TX, Julie Letsche and husband Eric of Snoqualmie WA.
