A contractor hired by the city of Olney went to work Wednesday, June 19, removing some of the silt around the intake structure at Lake Cooper. The lowest gate on the intake has been blocked by silt for many years, and getting it open will possibly allow the city to pull water from Lake Cooper for a longer time.
