A victory over Bryson Friday, April 19, locked the Lady Cubs in third place in district and clinched a playoff spot for Olney.

The Lady Cubs will play the Seymour Lady Panthers in the bi-district round at 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Windthorst High School.

Bryson was no match for Olney’s powerful offense last Friday, as the Lady Cubs defeated the home team 13-2. Olney scored once in the first inning, nine times in the second and three times in the fourth.

Vivian Garcia led Olney at the plate, going three-for-four with a single, two doubles and four RBIs.

She was followed by Jennifer Garcia, who was one-for-one with a triple. Other singles came from Dominique Garcia, Samantha Mayes, Cierra Petronella and Chelsey Acuna.

Vivian Garcia got the win on the mound for Olney, and pitched the first three innings. She saw 11 batters, struck out three and threw only five balls.  Hunter Riggins finished the game, and threw 23 strikes against 10 batters.
