The Cubs are closing in on the end of their season following a pair of disappointing losses versus district front-runners Archer City and Windthorst last week.

Olney 1, Archer City 11

The Wildcats came to Olney on Tuesday, April 16, and returned home with an 11-1 victory over the Cubs under their belts.

Olney's single run came in the bottom of the fifth. Zack Ballard got on first on an Archer City error, and eventually stole his way home to keep the Cubs from being completely shut out.

Lane Spivey recorded Olney's only hit during the contest, a single, in the third inning.

Adam Gipson pitched the first four innings for the Cubs, throwing 53 strikes and striking out two of 28 batters. Shane Cunningham finished the final inning of the match, striking out two and walking one.

Olney 0, Windthorst 11

The Trojans recorded a shut-out win over the Cubs on Friday, April 19. 

Olney's hits during the match came in the form of a single by Keaton Mayers in the first inning and another single by Ty Green in the fifth.

Daven Lough took care of duties on the mound for Olney, and threw 48 strikes against 26 batters throughout four innings.
