Haven River Inn blesses new chapel

DR. SUZIE RAMSAY | HAVEN RIVER INN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

A new chapel opened its doors on Sunday, April 21 at the Haven River Inn, a Christian retreat dedicated to serenity and serving the Lord.

People from Olney, Weatherford, Art, Fredericksburg, San Antonio, and Waco have mightily impacted this project with their prayers, expertise, volunteer labor, and donations.

The Haven River Inn is a unique place, close to the small town of Comfort, yet quietly separate, high on a hill overlooking the Guadalupe River. It was a natural easy decision to place the chapel on a bluff overlooking the river, nestled among an ancient oak tree and a one-of-a-kind concrete gazebo.

We’re excited and confident God will use this place to bless the many people who visit.

The Lamb’s Tale Ministries owns both the Haven River Inn and the new Chapel. The ministry’s focus is providing complimentary Christian leadership Respite Care. Literally thousands of pastors and Christian leaders have come since 2000 for a chance to “catch their breath,” refresh and recommit to their high callings.

The chapel will host many functions as a larger meeting space for the various retreats, reunions, and weddings that already occur at the Haven.

From the original desire to build a chapel in 2014, to the dedication last Sunday, was a long road filled with twists (pandemic) and turns (freezes) but perseverance, passion and almost unlimited dedication opened the doors and rang the bell!

We are so glad for and value the worship that building will know.

The chapel stands proudly on the bluff that overlooks the old San Antonio to Fredericksburg railroad. When driving west on I-10, you can see the chapel from miles away while crossing the bridge over the Guadalupe River.

For Christians, this day and age, I bet it’s refreshing to see somebody has built a new Chapel.

Come see us sometime!
