City in talks with administrator candidate

The Olney City Council entered into contract negotiations with Simon Dwyer with the intent to hire him as the new City Administrator, Mayor Rue Rogers said. Mr. Dwyer has served with the Olney Police Department for several years, attaining the rank of corporal last year. The Council selected Cpl. Dwyer from at least four candidates to fill the position left open by the firing of former City Administrator Arpegea Pagsuberon.

Ms. Pagsuberon was terminated in January, several months after complaining to the Council that she had been sexually harassed by former Mayor Pro Tem Tom Parker and Councilmember Tommy Kimbro.

The Council is investigating the allegations, Mr. Rogers said.
